After breakfast, start your visit to the Royal Palace, which is now a National Museum and houses the precious exhibits that used to be possessions of the former Laos Royal family. (Open from 8:30am to 11.30am and from 1.30pm to 3.30pm daily except on Tuesdays) Continue with the exploration of the main Buddhist temples of Luang Prabang including; Wat Visoun, a 16th century temple which serves as a small museum for religious artifacts; Wat Aham, built in the early 19th century temple and Wat Xiengthong, a 16th century temple which epitomizes all the elegance and grace of Luang Prabang architecture. Take the opportunity to interact with the monks at the Wat Mai temple before ending the day with a climb of 328 steps to the top of Phousi Hill where you can watch the sun set over Luang Prabang town. This morning, embark on a two-hour cruise aboard a traditional long-tail boat along the tranquil Mekong River. Pass by typical Laotian villages, often hidden behind dense foliage, and see wooden canoes gently bobbing by the shore, secured to bamboo poles. Keep an eye out for the floats that mark local fishing nets and traps.

Arrive at the mysterious Pak Ou Caves, home to thousands of Buddha images ranging from just a few centimetres to two meters in height. Explore both the upper and lower caves, each holding centuries of spiritual significance. Return to Luang Prabang by car.

In the afternoon, travel south to one of Luang Prabang’s most picturesque natural treasures — the Kuang Si Waterfall. Stroll through lush national park trails to reach its cascading turquoise tiers. For the adventurous, continue up to the top of the main waterfall, where you may enjoy a refreshing swim in a large natural pool.

Return to your hotel by private vehicle and enjoy free time in the evening to wander the colourful night bazaar, a perfect spot for souvenirs and local handicrafts.

After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to the bus station for your scenic overland journey to Vientiane. Travel through beautiful countryside and rural landscapes, passing small villages and lush greenery along the way.

Today, embark on a sightseeing tour of Vientiane’s most significant historic and cultural landmarks.

• Wat Sisaket – The oldest temple to survive the Siamese war of 1828, renowned for its cloister containing over 8,000 Buddha statues.
• Wat Ho Prakeo – Once the home of the Emerald Buddha, now housing a beautiful collection of Buddha statues, antiques, and sacred artifacts discovered in and around Vientiane.
• That Luang Stupa – Laos’ most important national monument, built to enshrine a relic believed to be a piece of the Buddha’s chest bone.
• Patuxai (Lao Arc de Triomphe) – A striking monument built to honor those who died in past wars, now an iconic symbol of the city.

In the afternoon, take a one-hour drive southeast to visit the fascinating Buddha Park. This unique sculpture garden is filled with hundreds of Buddhist and Hindu statues, some dating back over 500 years. A highlight is the giant concrete pumpkin with three levels representing hell, earth, and heaven, which visitors can explore from the inside.

Vientiane – Phnom Penh (By Flight – Approx. 1 Hour 15 Minutes)

Today, discover the cultural and historical treasures of Phnom Penh.

• The Silver Pagoda (Temple of the Emerald Buddha) – Admire the exquisite Italian marble steps and the remarkable floor, inlaid with over 5,000 solid silver tiles weighing nearly six tons. The pagoda houses many national treasures, including gold and jeweled Buddha statues.
• The Royal Palace – Built by the French in 1866, this stunning complex remains the official residence of the King of Cambodia. The highlight is the Throne Room, constructed in 1917 in traditional Khmer style, featuring a tiered roof and a 59-meter tower inspired by Angkor Thom’s Bayon Temple.

Begin your day early at 05:00 am to witness the magical sunrise over Angkor Wat or Ta Prohm, one of the most photographed temples in the Angkor complex. Built in the late 12th and early 13th centuries in Bayon style, Ta Prohm has been left largely untouched by archaeologists, allowing visitors to experience its mystical atmosphere as giant tree roots intertwine with ancient stone walls.

Return to the hotel for breakfast before continuing to the ancient city of Angkor Thom (“Great City”), which spans 9 square miles and houses numerous awe-inspiring monuments. Enter through the imposing South Gate or explore the Victory Gate on the east side. Discover the East Gate—also known as the “Gate of Death”—which remains beautifully untouched in a peaceful part of the complex.

Visit the Terrace of the Elephants, a 300-meter-long platform used for royal ceremonies, and the Terrace of the Leper King, dating back to the 12th century. The latter is named after the mysterious statue that stands atop its platform, adding to its intrigue.

Return to the port and continue to the Artisans d’Angkor Silk Farm, located just 15 minutes away. This inspiring social enterprise provides training and employment to individuals from underprivileged backgrounds, reviving the ancient art of silk-making. Accompanied by a knowledgeable local representative, follow the intricate process from silkworm to finished product.
